When it’s time to say goodbye..

I shall set out to paint my green dragon

And your dreams are waiting too.

It’s a long gruelling journey,

With none to walk by unto the end.

Life, as they say is rife with uncertainties.

We cannot go together,

But I promise never to break your faith

The faith in your purpose and your faith in men.

Let there be no lies; Let there be no tears,

Let our silence not drown in words we don’t mean.

If this is a moment of truth, if it is effortless,

Then we’ll let it live.

Someday, when I look back,

I wish to feel grateful

Because you gave me the courage to move on

And left me no scars of betrayal or blame.

When it’s time to say goodbye,

You would understand,

That I never really walked away

For I will still live in your memories

And so will you in mine.

The World Within

The din of voices and laughter seem distant;

familiar images seem to fade.

Bereft of fears , bereft of  regrets;

the mind is now a cloudless sky,

drowning in the deep

chasm  between the real and that surreal,

where only memories linger.

The world outside those closed lids,

oblivious to this silent transition

will be unruffled and painstakingly same

even if you never returned, disappeared or died.

Children won’t hear the stories;

refuge will be denied even in myth;

nothing to show that you ever lived.

Somewhere the bell tolls two.

Senses begin to stir;

Reason returns to make the final redemption.

The nightly breeze turns a page

and the pen lies waiting,

to hear the recitals from the world within.

The Last Kiss by Topaz

It felt wet

then, froze my breath.

A raging fire within

kept us alive, while it drowned the night;

and left the day devoured.

Time didn’t blink an eye,

leaving the world lost

beneath our untiring lips.

Voices, there were none,

but my heart knew it all

without you having to tell,

a Love men never knew.

When we parted,

I no longer me;

You, no longer you.

It was a beginning with

an end so close.

My withered lips wait,

For that last kiss again, but in vain.

Kneeling beside me,

I hear you whisper

To the cruel stones of my cold grave

“Worry not my love… I will kiss you in my dreams tonight”.
